Photo and comment rules

Guest books work best when they feel like a road trip with friends. Keep it kind and keep it about the giants.

Photos

• Post only photos you took, or ones you have clear permission to post. No screenshots, stock photos or pictures from other websites.
• Make the giant the star. You and your travel buddies are welcome in the shot.
• Children shouldn’t be the focus. A kid in the background or small next to a giant is fine, but we won’t approve photos where a child’s face is the main subject.
• Respect other people. Don’t post close-ups of strangers without their OK, and nothing that shows a home address, license plate or other personal details if you can avoid it.
• Safe and legal only. No photos taken by trespassing, climbing where it’s not allowed, or stopping somewhere dangerous.
• No nudity, violence, hate symbols, drugs, ads or watermarks for other businesses.

Tips and comments

• Be kind. No insults, harassment, threats or hate speech.
• Stay on topic: the giant, getting there, parking, hours, nearby food and the best photo spot.
• No spam, self-promotion or affiliate links. Attraction owners and towns can list their attraction instead.
• Don’t share anyone’s personal information, including your own phone number or address.
• Be honest. Don’t sign a guest book for a giant you haven’t visited.

What we remove

Every photo is reviewed before it appears. We can decline any photo and hide or remove any tip, comment or account that breaks these rules or the terms of use, without notice. Repeat or serious problems lead to the account being closed.

Reporting a problem

See something that breaks the rules, a photo of you that you want taken down, or a giant with the wrong details? Email hello@coolbigthings.com with the page link and what’s wrong, and we will look at it within a few days.
